    Ken Kabongo

    Practice owner, Physiotherapist and Qualified Pilates Matwork instructor, Ken Mark Kabongo, graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Ken is also a Neuromuscularskeletal  Clinical Educator in the Physiotherapy Department of the University of Cape Town. 
     
    After completing his community service year in Johannesburg, Ken decided to further his studies and has completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy at UCT. Other notable post graduate courses include: Dry needling level 1 & 2, Clinical Pilates level 1 &2, Advanced taping & return to sport, Management of chronic pain, World Rugby Intermediate Care in Rugby Level 3, Tackling concussion head on ‘The role of a physiotherapist’ and FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine.
     
    Ken historically has a special interest in exercise and sports physiotherapy and has extensive experience working in a professional sporting environment. Ken has worked for multiple professional teams within South Africa which includes: SA Schools Rugby, SA U20 Rugby, SA Rugby Academy, Ajax Cape Town, Boland Kavaliers, England Rugby Union and Singapore Indoor Masters Cricket team. Ken is a proud winner of the prestigious 2020 Top 200 Mail & Guardian Young South African. In addition, Ken achieved Golden Key status while completing his masters degree at UCT.

    Through the years, Ken has made his clients understand that there is a connection between the mind and the body, and for this reason he treats his patients in a holistic approach to get the best possible results.
     
    Ken enjoys road running, living a healthy lifestyle and exploring the outdoors when not on the sports field or in his private practice

    Jessica Way

    Practice co-owner, Jessica Way, studied a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (Hons) at the University of Cape Town, finishing top of her class and achieving the highest academic standard during the four years of study. She is a passionate, hard-working, and forward-thinking physiotherapist with special interests in musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary conditions.

    After completing her community service year in Pietermaritzburg, Jess worked for 6 months in a rehabilitation center treating inpatients with orthopedic and neurological conditions, as well as those with post-covid complications.
    Dedicated to continuing professional development, Jess has completed her Dry Needling level 1, Kinesiology taping course and attended multiple webinars covering topics on musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain and neurology.

    Jess is a keen sportswoman and as a result has enjoyed working as the physiotherapist for the Rhodes University men’s and ladies USSA hockey teams.

    Jess strives to always achieve maximal client satisfaction. She believes that excellent clinical reasoning, combined with a holistic approach, is the key to helping patients recover from the point of diagnosis to return to their desired optimal level of functioning. Passion is what motivates Jess to go great lengths to help patients overcome challenging obstacles, alleviate pain and despair, restore their quality of life, and subsequently change their lives for the better.

    Jess is very active and adventurous- always keen for a beach day or looking for a new mountain to hike. She spends most of her weekends enjoying the outdoors and relaxing with family and friends.

    Tasha Ainsworth

    Tasha Ainsworth is a dedicated and performance-driven physiotherapist, who completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (Hons) at Stellenbosch University (2022) as the top achiever of her class in all four years of study. Thereaer, she completed her community service in the rural Eastern Cape, where she treated a variety of in- and out-paents with neurological, cardiopulmonary, and musculoskeletal condions. She is currently studying a Masters in Physiotherapy at Stellenbosch University in 2024/2025.
    She has a passion for connued educaon and the implementaon of evidence-based pracce to ensure opmal outcomes for her paents. To do this, she has further equipped herself by compleng her Basic Wheelchair Seang course, Dry Needling Level 1 and 2 courses and aended mulple webinars on neurological and musculoskeletal condions.She also has a keen interest in the rehabilitaon of paents with neurological condions including strokes, traumac brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
    As a dedicated modern and ballet dancer, she graduated with disncon from the disnguished Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York and hence, knows the mulfactorial demands it takes to be an athlete. She hopes that this, coupled with her interest in injury prevenon strategies and condioning, will aid her in rehabilitang paents back to their opmal state of performance.
    Tasha strives to implement person-centred care of the highest standard with the goal of reintegraon, whether that be back on the stage, the sports field, or the workplace. She believes that a holisc, biopsychosocial approach to management of pain and subopmal funconing is key to regaining her paents’ quality of life.

Waterfront Physiotherapy Clinic (WPC) is an established practice situated in the heart of the Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront. It is based in the Functional Performance Lab.   Our team of Physiotherapists provide an all round and bespoke service to our clients through thorough and comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. We believe in evidence-based Physiotherapy and have invested time in additional post-graduate courses and degrees, to enable us to treat any diagnosis. We work closely with different health professionals at our facility, to give our clients the best possible care through  rehabilitation. WPC treats elite sportsmen/women all the way to your office worker and we are able to adapt your  management accordingly and our main goal is to restore your function.
